'Beauty Of The Bunglows'Walking Tour

On Saturday, October 4, beginning at 12 noon, Richard George, director of Beachside Bungalow Preservation Association will lead a 60-minute walking tour of historic Rockaway beach bungalows.

The tour will explore the bungalows built from 1918 to 1920, which are adjacent to Rockaway's seven miles of boardwalk and beautiful beaches. These structures are featured in the upcoming documentary, "The Bungalows of Rockaway," and the PBS program, "AWalk Through Queens," hosted by Barry Lewis and David Hartman.

Promising a "Fire Island experience within New York City limits," the tour will go off rain or shine.

Beverages will be provided.

Participants are asked to "brown bag lunch." A $10 donation to benefit the Beachside Bungalow Preservation Association is requested in advance with your reservation, which can be made by contacting FarRock away BBPA@aol. com or by calling 917-297- 6804.
