Racism Is Alive And Well
Dear Editor, Concerning the issue of racism in the Rockaways, it's ludicrous at best to profess that any other reality exists. Beyond the issue of the total difference in the two segments of the beach; please review the following: "The Round Robin" system that insured safe and first access to be had by those exiting at Beach 116 Street and "last" stop on the line.

Cover Up
Dear Editor, This letter is for the women and young men in Far Rockaway. You are beautiful black people but you are showing too much breast and backside. I realize that you are young and have a style that you think is hot. But please try to cover up your breasts, leave something for the men's imagination and men please pull up your pants.

Scholars' Academy And Channel View Collaborate
Dear Editor, This summer I had the privilege to attend a class in Irish Literature, and traveled to Ireland to learn even more about the culture. It was an amazing experience, and I learned so much. The main theme of the trip was to learn about Celtic history. I noticed many common factors shared by both Ireland's history and America's history.

Someone Please Help
Dear Editor, I believe one of the editors of The Wave is from Edgemere. I hope some day the Parks Department will open up the Beach 32 Street beach, where the lifeguard shack is located as well as the big parking lot. It has been more than five years since you could go swimming there. All the blocks below Beach 32 Street are pitiful for swimming and dangerous.

Wonderful Doctors At PHC
Dear Editor, On August 8, 2008, I broke my leg through carelessness on my part, we call it an accident. Making the decision that I would rather go to Peninsula Hospital Center rather than one which, if an ambulance was called, would be somewhere in Brooklyn.

Newspaper Or Tabloid
Dear Editor, As I sat and read the August 23rd edition of the Wave, I wondered to myself, where has journalistic integrity gone? Over the past year the Wave's "Letters to the Editor" section has gone south. What was once informative and sometimes entertaining has now become a forum for unruly individuals to bash people.

1986 Amnesty Was A Predictable Flop
Dear Editor, In 1986, we granted amnesty to 2.7 million illegal aliens who were within our borders. This was supposed to solve our illegal immigration problem. Predictably, it only made the problem worse. Today, we probably have at least 20 million illegals in our country. And it will get much worse if we grant them amnesty. Everyone Should Know Criteria For President
Dear Editor, In his letter last week, writer Joseph Ceder asked, "Where are the criteria of who can and cannot be considered for such a high position?" in reference to Senator Obama's candidacy for president. I'd suggest he not become a contestant on the "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" show.

No Honor Without Loyalty
Dear Editor, There can be no honor without loyalty and neither Joe Addabbo nor Audrey Pfeffer is honorable. Both sided with the developers and not the community they represent on the rezoning of Beach 115 to Beach 117 Streets. They will tell you that the community board approved it.

Show Respect, Curb Your Dog
Dear Editor, Recently my family and I have noticed a large increase in the amount of dog poop being left on our sidewalks. If you dare to walk on the boulevard between 133rd Street and St Francis de Sales, you need to be part acrobat in order to avoid the fresh land mines left daily on the streets, sidewalks and lawns by some of Rockaway's finest canines.

A Once In A Lifetime Experience
Dear Editor, This summer I was granted the opportunity to attend a Celtics Course in order to obtain 3 college credits concerning Ireland history. After numerous classes this course concluded with a weeklong trip to Ireland. I cannot thank Dr. Cashin, Mr. O'Connell, our teachers, chaperones, and tour guides enough for this wonderful opportunity.
