Playoffs Around The Corner In Peace, Love And Unity Tournament

The final seconds are winding down to the conclusion of the popular Peace, Love and Unity Basketball Tournament at Inwood Terrace Gardens Park. But the finale played tonight will be an action packed contest that will determine first place for the upcoming playoffs.

Bayswater All-Stars and Roc Da Fellas will take on each other in a game scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight. Both squads are tied for first place at 10-2. The winner will decides who gets the bye and a berth into the championship game.

A third place battle is brewing with the La Familia team and G-Force both knotted at 7-4. Ledburn rounds out the standings at 5-9.

The playoffs will begin on Saturday, August 30 at 12 p.m. with the first semifinal contest and the second semifinal starting at 2 p.m.

The best of three championship series will start on Friday, September 5 at 6 p.m., September 6 at 12 p.m. and if necessary, the third and final contest will be on Monday, September 8 at 6 p.m.

The Legends All-Star game featuring the Jazzy Rockers taking on the Legends will follow the second semifinal game on September 6 at 3 p.m.

Tournament organizer Jeffrey "Jazz" Moye says he would like to thanks all who have attended and the support received as the tournament has gone on.
