Demolition was halted in Manhattan pending the making of a movie recently. When local people saw the new flick, "The Detectives," they recognized some of the scenes had been shot in Arverne. Is that why phase I of the Arverne demolition has been so slow?

Years Ago... 50 from the boardwalk are hoping that the program will be resurrected next season even if a large part of the surrounding area may be condemned by that time.
