Police arrested a 20-year-old man last Friday night after a 19-year-old female was shot near Far Rockaway High School. According to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown's office, Anthony Santiago was apprehended after he and another unidentified suspect fled the scene of a shooting in front of 25-31 Oceancrest Boulevard on August 8 at approximately 11:30 p.m. More ... Police officers responding to a call of "numerous shots fired" at the central courtyard in the Ocean Village complex on Beach 57 Street on Tuesday morning found little else but a few spent shells and a blood trail leading to one of the buildings. An unidentified 39-year-old man waiting for a bus in Inwood last Friday was seriously injured and taken to St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway after being assaulted and robbed by a group of men who are still being pursued by Nassau County detectives, according to police officials.
