Six New Shows At Capitol One Bank Theatre

Live Nation presents six shows you can't miss at the Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury during the week of August 18. Dickey Betts and The Marshall Tucker Band will start the week with an exciting performance on Tuesday, August 19, followed by Vince Gill on August 20, the Robert Cray Band and Keb' Mo' on August 21, The Rock & Roll King's Spectacular on August 22, Marc Cohn and Suzanne Vega on August 23, and closing strong with rock icon Ted Nugent on August 24.

Dickey Betts is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, most known for his work as a founding member of the southern blues/rock group The Allman Brothers Band. Betts is also known for his solo hits "Bougainvillea," "Rock Bottom," "Sweet Virginia," "Highway Call," and "Hand Picked."

The Marshall Tucker Band is a southern rock band known for their singles "Can't You See," "Fire on the Mountain," "This Ol' Cowboy," and "Heard It in A Love Song."

Vince Gill has achieved fame both as frontman to the country rock band Pure Prairie League in the 1970s and as a solo artist beginning in the 1980s.

He has recorded more than twenty studio albums, charted over forty singles on the U.S. Billboard charts as Hot Country Songs, and has sold more than 22 million albums.

Gill has been honored by the Country Music Association with 18 CMA Awards, and has also earned 19 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country music artist.

In 2007, Gill was inducted into the esteemed Country Music Hall of Fame.

He has had numerous number one hits including "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away," "I Still Believe in You," "One More Last Chance" and "Tryin' to Get Over You."

Robert Cray is an extremely talented blues artist with a soulful voice and a concise lead guitar approach that never wastes notes.

His 1986 breakthrough album, Strong Persuader, won him a Grammy and featured the hit single "Smoking Gun." Cray's other billboard hits include "Guess I Showed Her," "Right Next Door (Because of Me)," "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," "Acting This Way" and "The Forecast (Calls for Pain)." Performing with the Robert Cray Band will be special guest Keb' Mo'.

His music draws heavily on the oldfashioned

country blues style of Robert Johnson while keeping his sound contemporary with touches of soul and folksy storytelling. Keb' Mo' has won two Grammy Awards for his albums Just Like You and Slow Down.

The Rock 'n Roll King's Spectacular presents the music of one of the most talented and memorable singers of all time, Elvis Presley.

The show features Elvis impersonators, Shawn Klush and Steve Kabakos, along with two local favorites, Steve Mitchell and Rick Virga, and is produced by Omar Farag who worked with the original Elvis.

These talented impersonators, together with the credibility of a man who lived and worked with Elvis through most of his spectacular career, his original friend and drummer DJ Fontana, along with The Fabulous Ambassadors, will recreate the electrifying magic of the career of the one and only Elvis Aaron Presley.

Marc Cohn is best known for his song "Walking in Memphis" from his eponymous 1991 album Marc Cohn. He has issued three other studio albums to date: The Rainy Season (1993), Burning the Daze (1998), and Join the Parade (2007). In 1991, Cohn won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Suzanne Vega is an American songwriter and singer known for her highly literate lyrics and eclectic folkinspired music.

She is also known for her songs "Luka" and "Tom's Diner."

Ted Nugent is known for his exceptional talent on the six-string, his knack for penning arena rock anthems, and his standing as one of rock's top live acts.

He has been performing professionally since 1958, both as a solo artist and a member of the groups The Amboy Dukes and Damn Yankees.

To date, Nugent has released more than 31 recordings, and sold more than 35 million albums.
