The Inner Voice

Commentary by Marilyn Gelfand

We have to remember that no matter where we are, we are part of the Divine order of things.

If we are on vacation, or visiting someone in another city, the lessons we have to learn and the support we get, come with us.

Recently, I went on vacation and while in a remote little town, a waitress told me exactly what I needed to hear.

I couldn't believe it. We didn't know each other's names, but we had the most wonderful talk and I think of her now with good wishes. I saw her the next night, but she was serving another table. How funny that we had a chance to talk at all. How often does personal information come out in a conversation at a restaurant? We are never alone in the spiritual world, and we will get what we need provided for us. The key is to recognize what we may see or hear as something important for us and pay attention to our surroundings.

Another important thing to remember is that there is a timing to things. We may be big procrastinators or need to have an answer right now. Those behaviors may be coming out of our own insecurities in dealing with the unknown. We can let go and wait if necessary until we are sure that the answer or decision is the right one. Things may have to fall in place first elsewhere to be able to make a wise decision.

Let's say I want to know if I should sell a stock I own. Things may be happening within the company that can influence that decision. On a conscious level I don't know the internal changes. But, my instincts may be picking up information when the inter-company decisions have been completed. "Timing is everything," is a really true statement.

Trusting our instincts isn't always easy. The more we do, the more we realize that a lot of good things happen through our inner senses.
