Lead Those Who Cheered Him
Dear Editor Now that Senator Barack Hussein Obama was successful in Berlin, Baghdad, Jordan and he can choose to lead those that were cheering him there, and we in the United States can go back to other business of choosing a president for our beloved country.

Moving Summer Into September
Dear Editor, The ongoing debate about lifeguard coverage overlooks an important time of year, September. Come Labor Day Weekend, we will bid farewell to enjoying our delightful and refreshing ocean waters. Perhaps, the best swimming month of the year is forfeited for no apparent reason.

Promoting Excessive Drinking
The following letter was sent to President and Chief Executive Officer of Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Eric Claus. Dear Editor, The manager of Waldbaum's store at 111-15 Beach Channel Drive, Rockaway Beach, N.Y. informed me that he has nothing to do with the decision to display beer bongs in the store.

Nobody Is Above The Law
Dear Editor, As you know, in the summertime parking is hard to come by. At the entrance to Beach 106 and Beach 107 Street apartment building on Shore Front Parkway are two red signs clearly marked, No Standing. Well when this gentleman started to park his town and country sedan there, I pointed out the sign to him and he nodded that he knew.

Toxic Waste In Rockaway

Rude Neighbors
Dear Editor, I live on Beach 120 Street. I am an owner on this block. I live my life with this in mind, "do unto others as you would have done unto you." The people who own property on this block are quiet. They are proud of their investments and we all do our best to make our block a nice place to live.

A Tale Of Two Beaches
Dear Editor, There has been a resounding question throughout the beaches of Rockaway: Where have all the lifeguards gone? While this is definitely most of the reason for the lack of lifeguards, there is something else that lingers beneath the public eye: How one becomes a lifeguard.

Privatizing To Rid The 'Slobs'
Dear Editor, I think the time has come to seriously consider either coming up with some sort of privatization of the beachfront or charging to go to the beach, like they do in Long Beach, Long Island. Anytime I walk along the boardwalk in the late afternoon, I see a lot of garbage left behind by non-residents.

Street Signs
Dear Editor, I want to thank The Wave and staff reporter, Mr. Nicolas Briano, for the well-written article concerning the signage problem in Belle Harbor. The message I want to pass on is that the 55 replacement signs are for poles or stanchions not having signs on them (55 parking signs missing).

Lifeguard Scolded For Job Well Done
Dear Editor, I was also on Beach 130 Street on July 13th when Dorota Lewordowski made some amazing rescues despite getting hurt on the jetty. I spoke with Chief Lifeguard Cliff Oleary about his lifeguard and what a great job she did that day. Instead of giving Dorota praise he basically yelled at her for saving two girls on a closed beach.

Defending Those With Autism
Dear Editor, Autism is not a new condition, so why do radio hosts claim those with it are a fraud? Referring to the Michael Savage Show/WOR Radio N.Y. on Autism last week. One wonders why the only voice in protest was Councilman David Weprin. Mr. Savage states, "Autism is a scam, a fraud to obtain benefits." It is a low shot even for this vile broadcaster.

Warning! Pesticides Kill More Than Mosquitoes
Dear Editor, Lying in bed when suddenly I hear a warning "Warning, we are spraying pesticides to decrease the risk of West Nile virus. For your safety please go indoors until we have passed." I get up to close the window when I notice a young mother with her infant walking down the street. I think to myself, she will never make it indoors in time.

Discrimination And Racism
Dear Editor, Had the drowning, in past weeks, been a white or Jewish person and not just another black kid, maybe there would have been some changes. Shortage of lifeguards is not the problem. It is the allotment of lifeguards that is and has been the issue.
