Nature Programs At Wildlife Refuge

The Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge will host two nature programs on Sunday, August 3. The first program, scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., is "Shorebird Stopover" with naturalist Ron Bourque. Participants can take a look at shorebirds stopping to rest and refuel before continuing their flight to South America. Participants should have waterproof footwear. The second program is a brief gallery talk, which will be held from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. "Criminal Crabs," examines who these criminals are and what crimes they are committing in the Bay. Participants might even see an example of one of the crabs. For reservations and more information, call 718-318-4340.
