On The Road Again With Ed 'Shevy' Shevlin
      Rockaway's favorite biker, Ed "Shevy" Shevlin, is riding to Newfoundland, Canada to once again raise money for the research and fight against cystic fibrosis. Last year Shevlin rode his Harley cross-country from Rockaway Beach, New York to Rockaway Beach, Oregon. He kept his own personal travel diary documenting his adventure and planned to do the same this year.

FR Drive-By Shooter Faces Multiple Trials
      A suspected MS-13 gang member who was sitting in a Riker's Island cell awaiting trial in connection with a May drive-by shooting in Far Rockaway in which five men were wounded, has been taken to Nassau County court to face charges stemming from another shooting incident, this one in February at a Westbury night club, according to Nassau County police officials.

Hundreds Cram RBB For Annual Graybeards Family Run
      The weather cooperated and the runners thronged to Beach 129 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard on Friday evening for the annual Graybeards Family Run. Hundreds of kids and adults participated in the multi-race program, with the 3K race as the highlight of the evening.

Man Cut On Beach 113 Street
     Police sources say that a man was cut inside a grocery store at 112-32 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Rockaway Park just before noon on Thursday. While details were sketchy at press time, Detectives were outside the store and in the area gathering facts before searching for the assailant. One source told The Wave that the assailants may have come from the St. John's Residence on Beach 110 Street, and a police search was directed in that area.
