Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint

Local Man Busted In LI Robbery
By Nicholas Briano

Two men, one from Rockaway Park, were arrested for robbing an Inwood gas station at gunpoint last Saturday morning and then fleeing the scene, Nassau County police said.

Freddie Anderson, 22, of 182 Beach 120 Street was accompanied by his Queens Village collaborator, Steve Marthone, who is accused of pointing a handgun at a 52-year-old attendant at the Gas Stop at 471 Burnside Avenue about 2:10 a.m., demanding money, police said.

The two men got away with an undetermined amount of cash and fled in a Nissan Altima.

The gas station attendant, who was not injured, called 911, and Nassau County officers found the suspects within one hour of the robbery on Doughty Boulevard in the same Nissan Altima.

The men have been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon and were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
