Smith Kicks Off Youth Business Network

New York State Senate Democratic Leader Malcolm A. Smith will once again launch the annual youth employment initiativ, a seven-week employment program that places twenty-five local students at various businesses located throughout Queens.

Recently, budget cuts have reduced the number of local youth employment opportunities, adding to the importance of this program. This year's employee program participants include Office of the Queens District Attorney, Office of the Queens Borough President, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Arverne By The Sea, Allstate, Community Board 13, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, Health Plus, Jamaica Business Resource Center, Joan Flowers and Associates, Allen Neighborhood Preservation, Greater Allen Cathedral, Greater Allen Development Corporation.
