Rockaway Youth Clean Up Blocks

The Rockaway Beachside Neighborhood Association (RBNA) conducted a block cleanup, aimed at beautifying the Rockaway area. Children and adults gathered together to clean up Beach 25, 26, 27 and 28 Streets.

After the cleanup, refreshments were served. The kids took part in a contest and the winner received a small prize from Nicole Paultre Bell. The Les Paultre Band, "Mixed Notes," also performed. Nicole Paultre Bell's organization "When It's Real It's Forever," sponsored the cleanup, along with a grant from the Citizens Committee for New York City; tool donations and garbage pickup donated by DSNY; planting, by the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance and volunteers from the community.

Paultre, president of the RBNA states, "We as a community have to come together to help clean up our area and make it more attractive for all to enjoy."
