Binge Drinking Encouraged By Local Supermarket

The Waldbaum's supermarket on Beach Channel Drive and Beach 112 Street is currently selling beer bongs for only $3.99, an instrument that is used in a drinking game that encourages participants to quaff down an entire beer in one swallow. Store managers told a local who complained, that the store is doing nothing illegal and will continue to sell them. However, one Rockaway resident who brought The Wave his receipt and the bong believes Waldbaum's is openly encouraging binge drinking to Rockaway's teenagers.

The funnel is labeled with stickers that say "I got bonged" and "who's bad, party time" which clearly label the item's intent to the general public, mainly teenagers who are often the practitioners of binge drinking.
