Gerald J. McBride
Gerald McBride, a 16-year Rockaway resident, died July 9.
McBride was born in Brooklyn. He was a retired New York City Police Officer of 22 years and a New York State Supervising Investigator for the Deputy Attorney General's Office. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Emerald Society, Knights of Columbus and the Brooklyn Prep Alumni Society.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katie McBride; brothers, John and Thomas; sister, Sister Mary Josephine CSJ; and parents, Cecelia and Patrick.
McBride is survived his wife of 50 years, Eileen (nee Desmond); daughters, Kathleen (Tony) Lacitignola (nee McBride) and Elizabeth; son, Michael (Jeanne); grandchildren, Caroline Lacitignola, Michael Jr. and Patrick McBride; sister, Patricia (Al) Guarnuccio (nee McBride); and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the New Hyde Park Funeral Home. Services were celebrated at St. Brendans R.C. Church in Brooklyn. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery.
