As music played over loud speakers, locals skated around the basketball court at O'Donohue Park. The Parks Department provided skates and safety equipment to everyone. Photos by Miriam Rosenberg A large crowd came to O'Donohue Park on the evening of July 3, as the Parks and Recreation Department of hosted its citywide Rock-n-Skate program at the Beach 17 Street venue. The three-hour event included roller blading, supervised by parks department employees; games for all ages including Wii video games and nok hockey; face painting and free popcorn.
|The city brought games for people of all ages. The younger children color while the older ones, in the rear, play nok hockey. The line to play Wii video games remained long all evening as all ages tried their luck at boxing, baseball, bowling and tennis.
