Frances Roselle Bartlett
Frances Bartlett, a longtime Rockaway resident, died July 1. She was 73.
Bartlett was born in Manhattan on September 22, 1934. She worked as a school aide with the Board of Education for more than 35 years. She was a member of the DC 37 union and St. Steven Episcopal Church in Jamaica.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Curtis; sister, Marjorie; brothers, James and Oliver; and sister-in-law, Enid.
Bartlett is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline; son-in-law, Herman Bevelle, Jr.; grandsons, Malik, Rasheed, Jamal and Hakeem; granddaughter Maliqua; sister, Minister Melvina (George) Van Duyne; brother Augustus Holmes; brother-in-law, Charles Bartlett; sisters-in-law, Loretta and Delores; great-aunt, Amanda Holmes; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home. Services were held at Gilmore Funeral Home in St. Albans. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
