No Funds Found For Little Leaguers

Dear Editor:

Just a few weeks ago The Wave took some photos at a Baseball Clinic that was held at Sorrentinos. The photo in the paper showed how happy the champions and runner-ups from last year 2007 PAL Little League were to receive their trophies. What happened? The PAL Little League was supposed to have their first game June 28, 2008. Some children showed up to find out there are no teams. There are no uniforms; you have to wear last year's uniform. The younger children who have just joined, if they want to play, have to have uniforms from last year passed on to them were older children. There are no funds. What is going on? The children were looking forward to playing this year. Help! Please help our children, keep them off the streets. This letter is from one of the parents whose child was greatly disappointed. He loves baseball, and was looking forward to another year. Also, grounds where children are supposed to play at Beach 17 Street are also very dirty and unsafe. Thank you.
