St. John's Episcopal Hospital Honors Residents At Graduation
On Monday, June 16, 2008, St. John's Episcopal Hospital celebrated the graduations of the Allopathic and Osteopathic Residency Programs. There were 17 graduates from the Allopathic Internal Medicine residency program that is affiliated with State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. From the Osteopathic programs affiliated with Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, there were five Family Practice graduates, two Ophthalmology graduates, two Obstetrics/ Gynecology graduates and two Dermatology graduates.
St. John's Episcopal Hospital is a major center for post-graduate medical education which raises the level of medicine practiced at the facility. In addition to the independent allopathic and osteopathic programs, it also has the following affiliated residency programs: podiatry medicine and surgery program and wound care and tissue healing fellowships with New York College of Podiatric Medicine; psychiatry
with State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons; and physical medicine and rehabilitation with SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn.
