On June 16, 2008, the Shore Garden Club of Rockaway Park held its annual installation of officers for the 2008- 2010 term. The club proudly contributes to the community by maintaining two area mini parks; the Pat Brackley Park between Beach 123 Street and Beach 124 Street on Beach Channel Drive, and the Tribute Park at the foot of Beach 116 Street and the Bay.

The outgoing president, President Marge McCarthy, was applauded and recognized for her leadership, stimulating programs, civic beautification accomplishments and much more. Her place is being taken by incoming president, Linda Kelly.

Kelly is well qualified to lead a garden club. She has been active in civic beautification in Rockaway Park for many years, and has held several officer positions, including Horticulture Chair. When holding this position, she alerted groups to various flora specimens growing throughout the years.

Charter member Nan Knebel was the M.C. and installed each officer with words of appreciation for her aptitude in her respective assignment.

The club raises funds by selling raffles for a handmade quilt, made by members, each summer. This money is used for various projects and the Junior Garden Club, "Seedlings." The following is a listing of the officers installed, whose efforts will continue the club's programs and activities, to blossom and bloom under the new administration.
