The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring two fitness classes in the Rockaways this summer.

"Boogie Woogie Weight Loss" takes place every Tuesday morning at O'Donohue Park and Beach 17 Street in Far Rockaway, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., next to the lifeguard shed. It will continue through August 26. Every Thursday the department holds "Wake Up and Stretch" at the Hockey Rink on Beach 108 Street. The Rockaway Park exercise program also runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and will continue until August 28.

Both classes began the first week of June and are among the many fitness related activities the Parks Department holds throughout the city. This is the second year the agency is sponsoring fitness classes in Rockaway.
