Historical Views of the Rockaways

Comical And Hilarious Postcards From A Bygone Era Here
From The Rockaway Museum Commentary by Emil Lucev, Curator Dedicated To The Memory Of Leon S. Locke

A fter finding this ancient comical souvenir postcard stamped as such, it was fairly obvious that this card was sold at many other resort

beaches in the region. Believe me! I got a good laugh and a half out of the card… and I hope you will also!

What made me laugh is that long ago I knew a few fellows that did look like the guy on the card. What's that?

You did too! Small world - aye!

This particular postcard was mailed to Oley, Pennsylvania in 1906 from one Miss to another Miss.

I wonder how it was received by the addressee?

But the idiotic political correctness and mores of the present frown on such things (or anything) that cause one to laugh. If you want to drive people crazy… walk around with a smile on your face all day!
