Scholars' Academy has within its walls more than academic scholars. The establishment also can boast about its athletes, among them, new rising golf star Xander McDonald-Smith. McDonald-Smith, on June 2, 2008, became the New York City 2007-2008 PSAL Boys Varsity Golf Champion, beating out over twenty other golfers at Bethpage Golf Course on Long Island. More ... The Love, Peace and Unity Tournament on July 7 will have of some of the best playground basketball action in the peninsula but will also serve to benefit the community. The Love Peace and Unity Tournament, located at Inwood Terrace Park, is a pro-am unlimited event for those who would like to register. The tournament champion will receive a prize of $1,000. More ... The Big Apple Games is a free summer recreational program conducted by the New York City Department of Education and the Public School Athletic League that will be held at Far Rockaway High School starting on Monday, July 7. The program gives schoolchildren the opportunity to take part in a number of activities during the summer months. More ... Congratulations to the Rockaway Little League Major Boys Storage Place team on a season well played. In the most exciting game of the season, the boys fought hard in their final game of the season against Lichensteins on Friday, June 20 at Fort Tilden. More ...
