Break-In Destroys Stained-Glass Beth-El Window

Cops Speculate: Vandals Or Criminals


Somebody used a construction board to break a valuable stained-glass window on the first floor of Temple Beth-El Synagogue on Beach 121 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard on Friday, June 13. Officials at the synagogue speculated that the vandalism was done by teens looking for something to do, but police speculate that somebody may have been trying to enter the building to rob it. The board used to break the window was pushed into a small storage room and it was clear that the people who did it were trying to force the storage room door from the inside, but were unsuccessful.
