First Round Pick Wants To Make Impact For Brooklyn Cyclones
      Opening Day at Keyspan Park in June has become as traditional in Coney Island as the legendary Cyclone rollercoaster. On a cool and comfortable night on Tuesday, 8,240 people passed through the turnstiles at the ballpark by the Atlantic Ocean to watch the young Brooklyn Cyclones take the field and defeat their rival Staten Island Yankees, 3-1.

Bishop Kearney Tigers Father Daughter Golf Day
     Even though the temperature soared to almost 100 degrees, Bishop Kearney High School's Golf team held their 7th annual Father Daughter Golf Outing and BBQ at Dyker Beach Golf course. Always the highlight of the year, the Dads got the chance to play a round of golf with there daughters and enjoy a BBQ afterwards.       Starting on July 7, The Love, Peace and Unity Tournament, at Inwood Terrace Playground, will not only include some of the hottest playground action but also serves an event which will benefit the community.       The Rockaway Beach Volleyball League implemented their new innovative format on Wednesday night by incorporating a fifty minute halftime intermission. All 56 teams gather on the boardwalk to discuss the first half action and devise strategies for the second half before taking the field to resume play.
