Begin Demolishing Beth-El Community Center


Workers began demolishing the former Temple Beth-El community center on Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 122 Street this week, to make way for a new, state-of-the-art community center that will include offices, classrooms and an elevator that will allow congregants to access the sanctuary without walking two flights of stairs. By late afternoon on Monday, much of the old building was history. Officials say that they expect the new building to be ready for use in several months.
