Elementary School Kids Teach Seniors To Crochet

PS 114 fourth and fifth grade students taught local adults and seniors to crochet at St. Francis de Sales Church on June 4. The intergenerational opportunity was created by a collaborative effort with the Rockaway Artist Alliance and Millennium Development. Many seniors from local senior centers, St. Francis de Sales Church, and other local parishes have been working with PS 114 students and the Alliance for weeks.

Participants learned the ins and outs of chain and slip stitching and crocheting, including single and double crochet, half double crochet, and reverse single crochet. Millennium honored both groups for their dedicated participation in the project.
