L-R: Auxiliary President Sheila Schwartz, Joan Coogan, Dr. Herson, Peggy Fogarty, Mary Ogonah and Joan Ryan. Perry Herson, MD, director of the Peninsula Hospital Diabetes Center, met with the Hospital Center's Auxilians earlier this week to talk about diabetes: warning signs, prevention and treatment. Following his discussion, he took time out to take a photo with some of the auxilians.

The auxiliary meets the first Tuesday for a luncheon meeting at the Hospital Center. The next meeting of the auxiliary is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 12 noon in the meditation room of the extended care facility. The scheduled speaker is Alan Geller, who will speak on his book, "Scary Diagnosis." Auxiliary meetings provide the membership a forum for the exchange of ideas, as well as educational and entertaining speakers. Those interested in being a part of the auxiliary can contact the Department of Public Affairs at 718-734-2507.
