GNRA To Host Weekend Events June 7/8

Gateway National Recreation Area's Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge will host two events this weekend. There will be a two hour guided nature walk at Plumb Beach on Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m. Participants will meet at the Plumb Beach Roundhouse with naturalist Ron Bourque. They will witness the annual spectacle of mating horseshoe crabs along with the birds that depend on them for survival.

On Sunday, June 8, there will be a presentation on Diamondback Terrapins from 2-4 p.m.

Afterwards participants will head out on the trail to search for terrapin hatchlings with naturalist Kerry Muldoon.
