Excellent Letter,Comments and Suggestions

This letter is in response to William Molloy's "Change the A Line" letter in the May 16 edition of The Wave. Dear Editor,

I couldn't agree with you more… MTA should run one A train to 'Far Rock' and the other to 'Rock Park'; and run the C (or the V) to 'Lefferts Boulevard.' Excellent and simple. Like you, I watch our wonderful (but hugely perplexed) tourists, as they juggle their 12" by 14" subway map, backpack and luggage carrier, to figure out how and where the A runs. Why does JFK Airport (nation's second busiest) rate only half service?

Please remember though, Bill, change comes slow to the MTA. Layers upon layers of bureaucrats need to be convinced that any change is - firstly - in the long-run interests of their own career.

I am taking the liberty (I hope you don't mind) of sending your letter to NYC Transit President Howard H. Roberts Jr.

PETE STUBBEN
