Barbara Gardner, a Rockaway resident, died May 9. She was 57.
Gardner was born in Wilbur, North Carolina on January 26, 1951. She was the founder of God's Anointed House of Prayer and Deliverance. As an Evangelist, she often visited hospitals, nursing homes, prisons and numerous churches. She also volunteered at the Five Towns Nursing Home in Woodmere, for ten years.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jayda Gardner; and aunts, Alena Myrick, Doris Bryant and Mary Reese.
Gardner is survived by her daughters, Tanya Gardner and Crystal Loadholt; mother, Annie Gardner; brother, Allen Ray Gardner; grandchildren, Bryan, Tai, Christopher, Daniel, Brittney and Jayden; nephew, Travis Gardner; best friend, Ernestine (Pat) Dandy; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home. Services were held at the New Hope Missionary Church. Interment was at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, New York.
