A Ferry Nice Way To Manhattan

Ferry service is now available to all Rockaway residents from Riis Landing in Roxbury to New York City, downtown, South St. Seaport; maybe eventually, to midtown, to East 34 Street.

But, in this beautiful weather the people in NYC can take advantage of the gorgeous beaches of Rockaway, especially Riis Park. OR just to take a ferry ride.

To have a special lunch and dinner or just a drink or snack at the Kennedy's Restaurant in Breezy Point. The Rockaway residents now have easier access to shop and visit the sites I write about in the greatest city in America.

At Hill Country the Lincoln Center Family benefit whereby they have an annual Family fest, live Jazz music activities for children and stick to the ribs grub, an auction to raise money for children's musical education. A great time www.jalc.org.

The Optical Expo is where I found $100 bejeweled eyeglasses. Too rich for me, the way I lose glasses. But stunning. More practical, the Drivewear Glass for safer driving and at reasonable prices.

5W Beauty and Wellness Expo at the Provence Restaurant ( 57th and 8th Ave.) Five-star food, they displayed creams to eliminate eye puffiness, fillers to plump up lips and erase lip lines, fight skin cancer @4wpr.com. As far as I am concerned, there is nothing that beats invislift. Check it out at www.aestheticassociates.com.

Dr. Kelly Mattone, MD, gives me treatments once or twice a year. No pain, noninvasive, only comfort and lasting results. Call her: 516-482-2424.

Edible Chocolate Paintings and Sculptors I discovered last Sweet Sunday by Catalan Patissier which can be seen on The New Yorker Show where I appear with segments: News events around the city. WNYX-TV Channel 26 online.

The Night on the Town at Battery gardens, NYC was a huge success. The Society honored Thomas Markos. He is an APL (Acute Promyelocylic Leukemia) survivor. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society mission is to cure these and their related diseases... It is the largest provider of funding for blood cancer research in the country.

At the Gift Show, I ran into Joanne Ciancarelli who has PURSEnality and sells Purse hangers and Key Finders. You can hang your purse, which displays a jewel on top, on a table.

This will also be seen on the Tonight Show.

My children, son, Kevin from San Diego, in for a NJ tradeshow and my son, James Matuozzi, took me to a marvelous Italian restaurant, Nanni's. It was very pricey, but, I must say, well worth the money. The food was delicious. If it is Italian it has got to be Nanni's.

If ever the ferry stops at the foot of East 34 Street, the H2O Restaurant at Waterside that just recently opened is reasonable and good. My son Jimmy Matuozzi took me there for Mother's Day and the Mother's Day Special you couldn't beat, including a glass of wine. We both ordered their prime rib. It was excellent and not pricey at all.

Try it.

Historic Hotels of America: Nearby the Thayer Hotel at West Point, where I was married to Lt. Kenneth A. Tackus after graduating from the sister college, Ladycliff. On the grounds of West Point sitting above the Hudson with gorgeous views and history all around, is so perfect for weddings; The Peabody, Legend of the Ducks. The hotel is the epitome of southern hospitality and luxury in Memphis, Tennessee; Union Station, a Wyndham Historic Hotel, is the modern incarnation of Nashville's railroad station built in Romanesque style and is a member of the Historic Hotels of America; Jekyll Island Club Hotel, Georgia, a landfrom mark experience; Sagamore, on Lake George, Bolton Landing, N.Y.; the Kendall Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
