Winds gusted as high as 45mph on Monday and the rain poured down, as the tailend of a strong storm blew through Rockaway, causing the tide to come up nearly to the boardwalk all along the peninsula, as well as causing some minor flooding. A lovers' quarrel turned deadly this week when a Rockaway Beach woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend with a steak knife, police say. Milton Browne, a 36-year Far Rockaway resident, died May 4. He was 66. Browne was born in Nevis, West Indies on July 17, 1941. He was the pastor of the Arverne Church of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Frederica Browne; brother, Vernon; and sisters, Marilyn and Iola Myers. More...
