Meeting Tonight On Post Office Problems

Congressman Gregory W. Meeks in conjunction with, Congressman Anthony D. Weiner; New York State Senator Malcolm A. Smith; New York State Assemblymember Michelle Titus: New York City Councilman James Sanders; the Honorable Valerie L. West; and the Honorable Lew M. Simon, will host a Special Town Hall meeting on Friday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m., at Far Rockaway High School, 821 Beach 25 Street, Far Rockaway, NY. The meeting will address constituents' complaints regarding delayed or undelivered mail and poor customer service by the United States Postal Service in Far Rockaway.

"Late last year I wrote to the Postmaster General, strongly urging him to take necessary steps to address the issues for postal and customer service in Far Rockaway," stated Congressman Meeks. "I have invited officials of the U.S. Postal Service and members of the Sixth Congressional Postal Service Advisory Committee to participate in the Town Hall to address the litany of complaints. Meeks continued, "I am committed to assisting in every way that I can to ensure that the problems with the United States Postal Service in Far Rockaway are addressed."
