Stories Soar From Seaside School
     More than 300 students from kindergarten through sixth grade gathered on Friday, February 14, to celebrate the unveiling of their books. The students produced autobiographies, essays, mysteries and science fiction stories. More than a dozen parents attended the event.

Neponsit Residents Named To Marist Dean's List
      Marist College announces that Neponsit residents Courtney J. Calciano and Kevin T. Quinn have been named to the fall 2007 dean's list. Calciano, a Class of 2010 member, is majoring in fashion merchandising and Quinn, a Class of 2009 member, is majoring in psychology.

PS/MS 105 Students Celebrate Mexico
      First grade teachers and students of PS/MS 105 culminated their Core Knowledge unit of Mexico by participating in a Fiesta. Students wore sombreros, danced the Mexican Hat Dance and ate tortillas and tacos.

'Say No To Violence' Week At Goldie Maple
     Students at Goldie Maple Academy celebrated their Say No to Violence week with a poster contest. The posters were voted on and four winners were chosen. First place was fifth-grader, Ashley Chavez; second place was second-grader, Jennifer Bodre Conner; third place was third-grader, David Lewis; and fourth place was fifth-grader, Joshua Buffa. First and second place winners received a $50 savings bond and third and fourth place winners received a $25 gift certificate. NY1 News reporter, Ruschell Boone, assisted in awarding the prizes. District Attorney Richard Brown, representatives Jesse J. Sligh and Tara Canterbury were also on hand. All of the posters were on display for parents and students to view.
