Seawolves Look For A Semi Final Spot

By Brendan Margolies, Mike Massoni and Corey Garcia

On March 12, there was a lot at stake in the Scholars' Academy gymnasium, as the Scholars' Seawolves prepared to face off with one of the best teams, and former champion, in the league, the PS/MS 105 Sharks. The visiting team came ready to play, but as they warmed up, the baskets didn't come easy.

The frustrating warm-up was reflected in their play during the first half, in which the Seawolves controlled the game. The Sharks were unable to use their height to an advantage, but the Seawolves played aggressively. The home team was able to dominate the paint, with the Kilgallen brothers leading the pack. Ryan, age 12, had 15 hard-earned points and Pat, age 13, had 13 points. As a result of this victory, Scholars' Seawolves are still in the running for a spot in the championships. Ryan Kilgallen told his teammates, "Go big, or go home."
