The NYCHA team celebrates another great victory at Farmingdale University. The NYCHA team celebrates another great victory at Farmingdale University. The NYCHA Lacrosse program is up and flying. The team won its fourth straight game out at the Farmingdale winter lacrosse league. NYCHA Lacrosse defeated the Long Island Gold All-Stars with an impressive 22-11 victory. Head Coach Greg Carter says he has been proud of his team's impressive effort.

"The players have been working and practicing quite diligently. Our players are at an equivalent level to their Long Island counterparts, and the proof is in the pudding," Carter said. "A number of our players are actively being recruited by several major lacrosse colleges and universities".

In the victory over Long Island Gold, the NYCHA team got an offensive explosion from several of its top players. Co-captain Brandon Pena had six goals and Co-captain Zach Lopez scored four goals. Nage Odom also chipped in by scoring five goals.

Corey Lopez, Keith Watson Jr, Patrick Grillo, and Donelle Harris were tremendous on defense.

Coach Carter said he would like to thank the outstanding coaching assistance from Coach Randy Naftal and the play of their great young goalie, Alex Naftal.

The NYCHA goalie helped keep the team in the lead the entire game. If any parents wish to register their child (ages 12-15 years) in the NYCHA lacrosse program, they may sign up at the practice facilities on Friday evenings, 6:30 p.m. at the Hammel Community Center on 81-14 Rockaway Beach Boulevard.
