US Navy Blue Angels To Star At Jones Beach

The Blue Angels, the US Navy's high-performance aviation team will perform at Jones Beach once again this year. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced that Jones Beach State Park will host the 2008 Bethpage Federal Credit Union New York Air Show featuring the United States Navy Blue Angels.

The air show will be held at Jones Beach State Park on Saturday, May 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Last year's air show was a success with 207,000 visitors on Saturday and 191,000 visitors on Sunday. The two day event hosted 398,000 park visitors at Jones Beach State Park during the Memorial Day weekend.

Additional performers at this year's show include the US Army Golden Knights, the NY Air National Guard - HC - 130/HH60 Rescue Demo, Air Force Reserve Biplane with Ed Hamill, and John Klatt-Air National Guard Aerobatic Team.

Civilian demonstrators include the American Airpower Museum Warbirds, GEICO Skytypers, and Sean Tucker, named a "Living Legend of Flight" in 2003 by the Smithsonian Art & Space Museum.
