Hall Named To St.Lawrence University's Dean's List Marcella Hall of Far Rockaway has been named to the dean's list at St. Lawrence University for the fall 2007 semester. Hall, a graduate of Math/Science Research Tech Magnet High School in Cambria Heights, is currently majoring in mathematics and economics. Among her many activities, she has participated in the Black Student Union and is a College Assistant and Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary. Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer hosted a meeting on Tuesday, February 12 between New York State legislators and leaders of Shalom Task Force, an agency that deals with domestic violence in the Jewish community, to discuss issues facing victims of domestic abuse.

"The Shalom Task Force provides an invaluable service in helping curb domestic violence and assisting its victims," Pheffer said. "Increased funding and broadening support is paramount to protect families struggling with abusive situations."

Since 1992, Shalom Task Force has offered help to families dealing with domestic abuse.
