This is the final weekend to "Get Out of Town." Or, at least, to see the exhibit at sTudio 6 Gallery, RoCA@ Fort Tilden. Check out this column's 'little gray box' for gallery hours.

"Get Out of Town" Spotlights:

The photography of Denis Macrae reflect his love of the avian creatures of the world (especially those in his own, literally, Broad Channel backyard), his infinite fascination with far-off people and places, and his wonderfully elfish sense of humor.

Jessica Schulman's computer manipulated photography sets familiar locations in a Neverland of digital dreamscapes that keep the viewer at once off balance and inescapably intrigued.

Watercolorist Janet Dever's "Bend in the River at Red Rock Crossing" is open, bright and beautiful.

Upon entering the main gallery of sTudio 6, one is instantly engaged by the large geometric forms and unexpected colors of Ellen Morrissey's oil paint landscapes that transport one to "Tuscany," on a "Boat Ride" and to a place that is, well, "Untitled."

American Impressionist and Rockaway resident Patrick Antonelle has recently created a new series of works consisting of square Tuscany scenes painted on wood, in which the artist distresses and creates the frame, giving the viewer the sense that he/she is looking out of a Tuscan villa window. These and other artworks that include original paintings and high quality limited edition canvas replicas can be found on Antonelle's website: www.an tonelleart.com. See why he has been called "The American Renoir," and why his paintings are in prestigious private and corporate collections. These include the collections of Leonard Bernstein, Frank Sinatra and the Swedish Royal Family.

Jeff Berman will be one of three judges on the panel of awards for the Salmagundi Club's photography and graphics non-members show in the late spring in 2008.

Berman hopes many of his fellow artists and photographers take part. "This is a good place," he declares, "to exhibit, with many visitors coming in for the opening." More information will be available in the near future. Details will appear in Art News magazine and on line at the Salmagundi Club.

Berman's artwork appears in the first main lower gallery of the Professional Photographers Exhibit at the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park. The members include important photographers of the last 40 to 50 years. The exhibit is open through February 23 from 10-5 p.m. For hours, weekends call the National Arts Club at 212 475-3424.
