Thank You All
I would like to take this opportunity to thank your publication for providing pre-concert coverage of our successful 15th Annual Doo Wop Spectacular fund-raising concert at Beach Channel High School last Saturday.
The event is the longest running annual fund-raising Doo Wop Concert in the tri-state area and the proceeds benefit the Susan G. Memorial Scholarship Fund at the school.
Thanks to many local fans and supporters of the music from the 1950's and '60s who have attended our concerts. Special thanks to all the groups who performed; the administration of the school; the custodial staff and in particular, Joey Gargiulo Sr. who dressed the stage magnificently for the event; State Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer; Democratic District Leader Lew M. Simon and his staff; the 100 precinct Auxiliary Police volunteers; Connie Gonzalez and her staff of volunteers; event supporter, Allan Camhi of Condor Pest Control; and the personnel at the Department of Education in the Long Island City office who assisted in making the event a musical happening.
Next year's annual fund-raising concert event is slated for Saturday, January 31 and will feature another array of doo wop talent. Tickets will go on sale after Labor Day.
