Father Stabs Man 'In Daughter's Defense'
ARockaway father was busted by police officers from the 100 Precinct on Monday, inside a Rockaway Beach home, for allegedly stabbing a man who had been bothering his daughters, officials say.
The victim, Lameik Dean, sustained a stab wound to the chest, inside of 81-04 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown has identified Dean's assailant as Mark Brown, 44, of the same address, who was arrested right after the assault and who has been charged with third degree assault.
Officials say that Dean's injuries are not life-threatening, but that he sustained a deep laceration to the right side of his chest.
Brown vowed to police to finish what he started as they dragged him away in handcuffs.
According to court documents, Brown threatened to kill the victim.
"Next time I see you I am going to finish what I started," Brown yelled. "If you come near my daughters again I will kill you."
Police declined to speculate on a motive for the assault beyond the contention that Dean had somehow bothered Brown's daughters and he decided to do something about it.
Brown was arraigned in Queens County Criminal Court and released without bail. He is expected back in court on March 5.
