That's The Way to Land

Dear Editor,

On page 64 of last week's issue a photo was displayed of two aircrafts flying over Rockaway with the caption "Aircraft Arriving Too Close For Comfort." What the caption fails to mention is that both planes and the ones that followed were landing on parallel runways at Kennedy known as Runways 4L-22R and 4R-22L, which are approximately 400 feet apart. In order for planes to land on them they would need to start their descending approaches at what seems to be close proximity to each other, but is necessary for their safe landing.
