Super Bowl Caution

Super Bowl XLII is shaping up to be a great game with the New York Giants against the New England Patriots. With all the big hype for the big game, the NY CPB (Consumer Protection Board) is warning against counterfeit tickets.

Everybody who is trying to get tickets to the game should be wary about buying tickets from anyone other then the two teams playing on game day.

Those planning on buying on the Internet should be particularly careful.

The CPB is advising Super Bowl enthusiasts looking for tickets to follow their "10 Ways to Avoid Scams" and other tips, found on their website at www.ny sconsumer.gov. Here are some tips to help avoid falling victim to a counterfeit ticket scam:

1) Only purchase tickets from a
known and reputable company.
If the deal looks too
good to be true, it probably
is.
2) Get everything in writing up
front.
3) Ask questions before you
buy.
4) Read ALL the fine print.
5) Never pay in cash.
6) Password protect your computer
before making your
purchase.
7) Check often for fraud on
your credit card billing
statement after your purchase
has been made.
