I Met Sandra Lee from the Food Network at the Javits Center who put "Pom" juice into a Margarita Martini and came up with a little fiesta flavor you can brush on every time you grill fish, chicken, pork or vegetables. Very tasty.
At Sardi's, I attended the Brigg's Awards. Winners were: Outstanding Hotel: The Westin Times Square; Restaurant: The Palm Westside. Top notch food and service and seeing guests to show on time; Service: Theatre Direct International Showtix; Hospitality Partner: Patti Golden along with Our Lady in the Harbor. Golden is Ambassador of Aramark for corporate events at Ellis Island and United Nations. Anthony Napoli is, and has been, President of Briggs Inc for 20 years and he looks forward each year to these awards. It was a, lovely reception at Sardi's surrounded by all those celebrity caricatures. I posed for one myself, but I don't think you will find it on the walls of Sardi's.
Colors are the rage from jewelry to clothes at the Fashion Expo at Pier 92 and 94. They featured darling little tops, fitting and flayed and scarves around neck and shoulders in sheer chiffon in all colors to perk up an outfit. That is what spring fashion has in store for you.
The Museum of American Finance, formerly the Museum of Financial History, found another home at 48 Wall Street, just one block east of the New York Stock Exchange. It had its Grand Opening Reception catered by Cipriani. What could be better? It will be open Tuesday - Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. Adults $8; Students/ seniors $5, kids 6 and under Free.
Adventure Travel Expo was in town and I learned that more women 47+ are traveling with their girlfriends on exhibitions and adventure tours. Dude ranches are back in demand for families with kids for trail tours, hiking, and river rafting etc. And Colorado is a good place for wine tours. Learned a little something about Robert Wiese while I was there, who became President of the Explorer's Club and seen by millions on TV. He participated in medical research on Mt. Everest. He achieved first ascent on an unclimbed mountain in Alaska. He tagged jaguars in the Yucatan jungles, captured crocodiles and venomous snakes in Australia. He installed a complete weather station in Mt. Kilimanjaro. This March he is leading another expedition there. A few openings are left. Contact: eplorer@ newsweather.com.

Frocks/Rocks and Cocktails fashion and beauty and networking events founded by Dressaholic, Wanda Mann. I must say it was a delightful event held at Phyto Universe 715 Lexington avenue. Fine wines were served and the snack buffet of fruit and cheeses and caviar was beautifully designed I did not want to "dig in." However, I weakened and took the plunge. Shave Stager, from Channels 2 Trend Tracker in NYC shared the latest fashion trends for 2008 with us and how to make them work for you. She gave tips on hair and jewelry for oval, square or round faces. It was a very informative evening for the benefit of the Development and Finishing School Institute, a non-profit finishing school that teaches valuable etiquette, social and professional skills to youth.
