Senator Smith Sponsors Queens Middle School Fairs Throughout Month Of January

State Senator Malcolm A. Smith is encouraging parents and guardians of soon-to-be middle school children to attend Middle School Fairs hosted by the New York City Board of Education's Office of Student Enrollment throughout the month of January.

Middle School Fairs provide parents,

guardians and students the opportunity to speak with representatives

from middle schools of their choice.

"The turn of the calendar year means the start of the second half of the school year," said Senator Smith. "Before you know it, fifth and sixthgraders will be graduating from elementary

schools all over the City and looking ahead towards middle school. It's important to choose the right school for your son or daughter."

The Middle School Fairs in Queens will take place at IS 204, located at 36-41 28 Street, on Tuesday, January 22 and at IS 25, located at 34-65 193 Street, on Thursday, January, 24. Both events run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Middle School Directories, which have been sent to elementary schools in each district, will also be available at the fairs, as will translation services.
