I wasn't released until 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

No cards or paper wishes or emails went out, but I still wish all of you the best for the holidays and the coming year. Do, however, keep in touch. I was so delighted to hear from Kay Salica.

I spoke to her on the phone in the hospital. She sounds wonderful! A beautiful gal, at any age, and just as charming as ever. I had a birthday at Christmas. A landmark one, and my son, Jimmy, came in with his two children, Erika, 10 and Michael, 7 and they took me to Gallagher's Steakhouse to blow out my candles. It was a great celebration and you can stake claim to that. Jim Chladek, Director/ Cameraman for 28 years for my travel shows all over the world, joined us and took this picture of my family. My other son, Kevin, his wife, Julie and daughters, Beth and Samantha were in San Diego and missed all the fun. It was a great meal and a lot of fun. We topped it off by getting a good look at the festive tree in Rockefeller Center.

But, it goes to prove that I am still here and I think the doctors will make sure I am around for a little longer, although they have me running for all sorts of tests. If they don't find anything, it is not their fault. Maria Lehv from Breezy and NYC stopped in to see me which was certainly very nice of her. She is tearing her house down and building anew. I had a beautiful trip for her and family to the Islands, but I could not reach her in time to set the dates. That was unfortunate. I hear her sister, Christine presented the family with her new Christmas "BEAU". Good luck , Christine.

The main thing is, HOW ARE YOU?? Please email me with little scoops of your life. Otherwise, I cannot tell how you are doing and I can't tell anyone else. That's what this column is all about. So get the word to me and hurry! You can always drop a note off to Jimmy, the bartender at Kennedy's, or you can email me with information and or simply call me.

I will love to hear from you and learn about your activities. "KEEP IN TOUCH!"

Since I was not up to too much I toasted a Champagne New Year's with my faithful traveling companion, my Director/Cameraman, James Chladek at H2O Restaurant and joined in the celebration. They had a live band and it was nice to get into the swing of things.
