Comer was born in Bayswater on May 21, 1949. She taught at Far Rockaway High School and was a guidance counselor at IS 53, JHS 180, Far Rockaway, Bayside and Beach Channel High School. She was always a delegate for UFT. She was preceded in death by her father, Philip Stein. Comer is survived by her mother, Terry Stein; husband, Robert Comer; daughter, Miri; son, Jordan; grandchildren, Adrian and Ava; step-children, Robbie and Julie; son-in-law, Brett; daughter-in-law, Suri; sisters, Beth and Pam; brothers-in-law, Zev, Lenny; and nephews, Phil, Josh, Sam, Bradley, and Michael.
Services were held at the Boulevard Riverside Chapel in Hewlett. Interment was at New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
