Free Electronic Device Registration Program

Captain Phylis S. Byrne of the NYPD's Transit District 23 invites all to take advantage of the NYPD's free electronic device registration program, offered every second Wednesday of the month from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Beach 116 Street subway station.

The program is designed to reduce theft and increase recovery rates by identifying the rightful owners of such devices. The types of items that can be registered include cell phones, MP3 players, laptops, handheld electronic games and personal digital assistants (such as BlackBerry® and Palm® devices). Literature will be distributed to increase awareness of available safety and preventative measures.
