for larger version       The Inner Voice As we enter a new year, we can see some of the new opportunities that will be presenting themselves as challenges or rewards in the future, and simultaneously, many people like to reflect back on the past year. Can you tell what was important to you personally? What were the highs and lows in terms of your own thoughts and beliefs? If you had thought about being more loving and kind to yourself, did you allow yourself to have the space you needed, for example? Did you spend enough time with someone who you wanted to? The points you are evaluating are very personal. They do not have to mean anything to anyone else. The way of living must be looked at from what you yourself deem as significant. We all have to take life as it comes. The choices are in how I handle myself and my own energy in those situations where I have no control. What do I do when my script is not what the reality is? Can I eventually accept the reality even if I have tried to improve it over and over? Am I flexible to the needs of others, as opposed to what I want or think is best for them? The other choice we have is what we do with the time where we have control. Was it time well spent? Do I want to do things differently in the future? It is good to bring in the awareness of how and why I do what I do. Then wise choices can be made. Once your thoughts are with yourself alone and are close to what you really think, they may become realities because it is what is important to you.
